Ok, it's kinda last year to share about my Christmas holiday vacation, but yeah, I'm posting it anyway. Instead, maybe it'll give you some information though, because I'm going to post my holiday at Trans Studio Bandung. Yay! ^^

For you who didn't know Trans Studio, I assume that you're not Indonesian. Give you a little explanation here, it's the first indoor theme park in Indonesia possessed by Trans corp. There're two of them, one in Makasar, South Sulawesi and one in Bandung, West Java, the newest one. It was confirmed as the biggest indoor theme park in the world. What so special about this theme park? I'll give you three reasons from my point of view.

  • First, it's indoor.
  • Second, they have the fastest roller coaster in the world that travel in 120 km/hr speed!
  • And third, it's pretty expensive for the entrance ticket, at least for student like me.

It's about Rp 150.000 (more or less USD 15) for weekdays and Rp 200.000 (more or less USD 20) for weekends and holidays. And you will have to spend Rp 200.000 for extra cost if you want to get VIP access, which you won't need to stand in general queue. Kinda hard to spend for a fun time in a theme park, but I finally went there. Well, it's just because my mom and sisters were spending Christmas holiday here in Bandung, and they wanted to try all the fun inside. So it all happened because my mom paid for my entrance ticket. Yay! Thanks Mom! ^^

Actually, we went there on Thursday which is weekday, but unfortunately it's in the school holidays range. And Trans Studio Bandung applied the holiday tariff from 18th December, 2011 to 7th January, 2012 (if I'm not mistaken), so I told my mom that she's gonna have to pay more, but then she said, "Yawes, mumpung di Bandung kok." Well, I was totally fine with it if she said so.

We planned to go there in the morning, right at the time when they open so it wouldn't be too crowd, yet. They open at 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. at weekends and holidays. We got there at about 9:10 and it's already pretty crowd with people. I went to the ticket booth directly to buy us the entrance ticket. Fortunately, I didn't need to stand in queue to get my turn. I have to pay Rp 820.000 (about USD 80) for 4 people. The extra Rp 20.000 is for the card that's going to be the means of exchange inside, Rp 10.000 each. One card is made for 2 people, so I got 2 cards. The system applied is like this, if you want to buy something inside, you have to buy using that cards. So you need to deposit an amount of money to your account before you can use it to buy something, food, drinks, souvenirs, everything. They provide some deposit booths inside that also can give you VIP access anytime you want. FYI, you're not allowed to bring food or drinks from outside, they're going to check your bag on the entrance gate.

It is divided into 3 blocks/zones: Studio Central, Magic Corner, and The Lost City, with 20 rides in total plus some shows such as theatrical show on the Amphitheater and Carnival along the park in 4 p.m. We spent almost 11 hours there, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Well, we planned it, to spend whole day there. Duh, you're not gonna waste Rp 200.000 for nothing right? :D

At least, I experienced 9 of them, with full efforts to stand in queue of course. Most of our times were spent in queue after 12 p.m. You wouldn't believe that we had to queue for 1 hour minimum to get in a ride. Being there early, was the right decision. I rode Giant Swing, Dunia Lain, Yamaha Racing Coaster, Jelajah, Kong's Climb, Negeri Raksasa, Marvel Superheroes 4D, Science Center, and Kiddy's Land. Most of them were adrenaline rush thing. One thing I wanted to brag is, I was able to complete Kong's Climb! well, first level though, but hell yeah I did it, while not much people able to accomplish it! Ok, forget it.
my sisters in queue of Giant Swing
me in queue of Marvel Superheroes 4D. That's Thor's hammer!
me at the end of Science Center
I'm going to recommend the rides you should try there first, before there's a long line in queue.
  1. Yamaha Racing Coaster. It's a must to try it. It's really thrilling to travel in 12 km/hr BACKWARDS!
  2. Giant Swing. It's like playing a swing, but with extra height and that spinning thing.
  3. Marvel Superheroes 4D. It's a new ride there. It's made specially by Marvel USA for Trans Studio. 2 hours waiting in the line were totally worth it.
  4. Negeri Raksasa (Land of the Giant). It gave you experience of falling from height over and over.
  5. Transcar Racing. It's kind of driving a car in a circuit, racing with others. I didn't have the opportunity to ride it though, but it seemed fun looking at the very long line in queue.
  6. Jelajah. You will be brought to explore nature, cave, and jungle on a water boat.
  7. Trans City Theater. It seems to have a great theatrical performance inside called Kabayan Goes to Hollywood and Bolang. I didn't make it also.
For addition, if you're kind of adventurous type, I suggest you to try Kong's Climb. It has 5 level of difficulties, choose your own level. And Science Center wasn't boring at all, it makes science seems fun. Not least, Vertigo, if you want to challenge yourself to be turned upside down over and over on the height. But I won't ride that, just looking at it make me sick. For me, Dunia Lain (kind of a tour in a haunted track), was so-so. In my opinion, it's just not too real. I mean, it would be better if they put more people in costume inside instead of videos or pictures. They just put one in the end of the journey. But I admit, the atmosphere they built was great, pretty spooky inside. I took cute pictures in Kiddy's Land though I couldn't even ride any of the rides there.

Hope it gives you a useful reference when you want to spend your time there.

Adios! ^^
